An ancient and powerful race almost legend even during the early days of power. The Sheikiah's demise has not been revealed in full we simply know that they died out. During the first age of Link we know that one remained named Impa, there was one who could be considered Sheikiah in the form of Sheik however that is dismissed as a rouse by Zelda 1st. The Sheikians were a peaceful race by all accounts, loyal servants to the royalty of Hyrule.

Little is known about them and this includes their lifespans. It is implied in Ocarina of Time that the Sheikians were a long dead race however Impa is still around, and we know she is pure Sheikiah not half-breed. Now during the third age of Link an old lady still serves Zelda who goes by the name of Impa.

Could the two impa's be one in the same thus implying that the Sheikiah have remarkably long lifespans or some sorcery to extend their life? Sadly we can only shoot at the dark at this point until Nintendo releases more.

The Sheikian symbol appears to be a red eye as it is featured on both Impa and Sheik.
